This mindset contradicts the core message of the Gospel, which emphasizes redemption, grace, and the transformative power of Christ’s love. Moreover, the weight of guilt and shame can prevent men from embracing their identity as forgiven and renewed individuals in Christ. Instead of living in the freedom that comes with faith, they may remain stuck in a cycle of self-condemnation, which stifles their ability to serve others and share the Good News. Men are called to be leaders, mentors, and examples of faith, but this cannot be accomplished if their pasts haunt them. Additionally, harboring guilt and shame can affect mental and emotional well-being, leading to increased anxiety, depression, and a sense of hopelessness.
