Disney’s purchase of 20th Century Fox meant they were now in charge of the Planet of the Apes franchise. So of course, even though War for the Planet of the Apes meant the end of Caesar’s story, they were going to make another one. Enter Maze Runner director Wes Ball and a brand new cast for what all intents and purposes looked like a cash grab of epic proportions called Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
