The books of 1 & 2 Kings start with the accession of Solomon upon David's death and end with the Babylonian captivity. Along with Kings, Chronicles recorded the history and geneaologies of God's chosen people and its kings. It is a history of obedience to God which is rewarded and destruction and exile when God is rejected. In our daily lives we too stuggle with sin and at times place other things above God. Fortunately for us, we have been redeemed by the blood of Christ. If you are living in exile, God is ready to welcome you home.
