Bossa rhythms, funky clavinet, Juno chimes meet Kirsti Sparboe’s timeless voice. DJ Døgenikt reimagines Norway’s pop diva classic En Sommer Er Over (A Summer Is Over) with Brazilian sway and baroque flair.
Raised among dusty vinyls and gospel choirs, Døgenikt grew up in a home where Norwegian pop classics like Kirsti Sparboe’s bittersweet songs lingered alongside funk and jazz records.
Half a century later, Døgenikt lifts that memory into a new dimension. His edit sways with bossa rhythms, layered with clavinet, Juno chimes and baroque-tinged lines performed by Døgenikt himself, while Sparboe’s iconic voice and 70s Eurovision-era strings shine as a bittersweet prophecy of summer’s passing.
For Døgenikt, this marks one of the project's first steps as an artist beyond the decks. Known for eclectic DJ sets in Tokyo, Paris, New York, Beirut, Marrakech and beyond, and with only a 2024 remix for Norwegian folk-metal band Monograf behind him, he now reshapes history rather than replacing it – weaving Brazil and baroque into Norway’s pop canon.
