Knight of Swords
Welcome to season 8 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Swords. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode.
What we explore in this episode:
The Knight of Swords as a card of action, ambition, urgency, and pursuit
Symbolism across decks: horses, charging into battle, haste, new adventures
How this card can reflect drive, impatience, or a desire to prove something
What happens when we charge ahead without checking in
Pictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:
Anima Mundi Tarot Deck by Megan Wyreweden
The Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia Burrington
The Desert Illuminations Tarot by Lindsay D. Williams
In this episode, we explore the forward-rushing, goal-driven energy of the Knight of Swords. This is the part of us that pushes forward, often with sharp clarity, sometimes with tunnel vision. The Knight of Swords is brave and bold, but they can also be reckless, trying to outpace burnout or ignore discomfort by simply doing more.
This card reminds us that momentum isn’t the same as alignment. It asks us to pause long enough to ask: ‘Where am I going?’, ‘Why am I in such a hurry?’, and ‘What am I hoping this will prove or fix?’

Today's Tarot Pull:
From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Cartographer (reversed). Upright, this card represents direction, curiosity, and mapping new possibilities. But reversed, it suggests you may be stuck in a pattern of overplanning or indecision, jumping between too many paths without giving one the attention it deserves. The Cartographer reversed calls for discernment: choose one road. Let go of the pressure to do everything all at once.
Reflective prompts on this card:
Where am I collecting ideas but avoiding action?
How is indecision or overplanning keeping me from real progress?
What one path feels most aligned to focus on right now?
