Elisha the prophet was old and about to die but he’s still got it, doesn’t he!?  Two more miracles in this final sermon and final message on the life of Elisha!  He left a legacy.

2nd Kings 9:1-37

A phrase shows up multiple times in this chapter, 7 times in fact:   Why did all this happen??  Because God said so, that’s why!  What God says will happen.  I want to preach on that thought, “Mark My Words.”  

Elisha said some things would happen; and they would; and they did.  Mark his words!  

Chapter 8 picks up again chronologically through the Tribulation Period.  We see a turn of events as John sees the seventh and final seal judgment being opened on the book revealed to us before (Rev. 5:1).  This 7th Seal is different from the others, in that it is not just 1 judgment but multiple judgments.  Let’s see what the chapter unveils on God’s stage of the future… 

When did the Lord Jesus Christ die on the cross? Was He really in the grave three days and three nights as He said? Is it really "Good Friday", or should it be "Good Wednesday", or some other day? Does it really matter as to when Christ died? These questions and more are answered in this sermon.

2nd Kings 8:1-6 Restore/d shows up 5 times in these verses (v.1; v.5a; v.5b; v.5c; v.6); that’s more times in this chapter than in any other chapter of the Bible!  That’s significant!  Here’s a woman who in a normal situation would have lost everything, but instead she was restored and not ignored!  I want to preach on that thought today.  The king restored her and did not ignore her; more so though, the King of Heaven restored her and did not ignore her!  

Revelation 7:9-17

V.9 opens up with “After this” and we see a turn of events in the Lord’s drama He is unveiling to us.  As we saw 144,000 sealed physically in the first part of chapter 7, we now see multitudes sealed spiritually.  They have put their trust in Christ and thus have become Tribulation Saints.

2nd Kings 8:7-15. 

Notice the word “dog” in v.13.  That’s how Hazael referred to himself.  This was a sad and ugly story wasn’t it!?  Our world is often sad and ugly.  As it has been said, we are living in a “dog-eat-dog” world.  That phrase refers to people competing or fighting ruthlessly, not caring for one another, only caring about self.  That sounds like Hazael!  That sounds like our world today!
