Online content creator Spoorthi Thej talks to host Pavan Srinath about the rise of online videos, and how anyone can become a creator in India today.

20+ crore people use short video apps in India today, and over 45 crores use YouTube. The rise of online video has only been possible because ordinary Indians became content creators, from all corners of India. Kannada is no exception, and today there are popular Kannada content creators on YouTube, Instagram, and pretty much all app platforms out there.

In Episode 103, Spoorthi talks to Pavan about the rise of short video platforms, how they have grown in India and Karnataka, and the nature of the content available. They also discuss how one can become a creator online armed with nothing more than a mobile phone.

Spoorthi Thej is an online Kannada content creator who goes by @spoorthi_speaks on Instagram. She is a former RJ and the new producer of the Thale-Harate Kannada Podcast, and she enjoys making funny and thoughtful videos, regularly featuring themes from her hometown of Kundapura.
