The majority of Step-Dad's tend to lose their perspective on the amount of "REAL VALUE" they are actually bringing into their new family. For the most part all the attention, energy (both good and bad), and focus are on the mom and her children and very little it shined on the Step-Dad for making the choice to Step-IN.

Then, as time passes, tend to forget about the VALUE we brought into the family and before you know it the pressure mounts and the fear of not being accepted becomes a real issue.
