The Chinese philosopher Lao Tsu said, “He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is empowered”. This proverb is a recognized statement about the value of being self aware. Self awareness is the first step to self governance. In other words, how can you regulate emotions that you don’t fully understand. It’s really difficult. Self awareness is all about how well we’re able to not only identify and name your emotions and their triggers, but also the ability to understand their root cause. This is a big thing if you want to have lasting meaningful relationships. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stumbled because I was not prepared to deal with the emotional triggers in my life. So I’m thrilled to parse through this with a well integrated soul today.
