Like any intimate relationship, knowledge of the person you love, is key. And for our relationship with Jesus, knowing Him is encouraged and provided for through studying Scripture.

I strongly believe that Christianity is not just a free pass to enter heaven, it is rather a journey of building a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And like any other relationships we have on earth, this relationship with Jesus Christ too needs our personal efforts. The same way we long to maintain communication with our loved ones, the way we desire to know them more and to do what the other persona expects of us, is the same way we cultivate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. However, in this day and era, the church has normalized the vice of not reading God’s word, majority of the believers only open the Bible on a Sunday while the preacher reads for them. As for the few who choose to read it, it is not always easy to understand some concepts in the Bible. That’s where I come in, my desire is that the reading culture will be instilled in every believer. To not just read cover to cover, but to understand God’s word.
