8Mar26 (26aL3) At the well, Jesus shows the Samaritan woman that He knows her completely—her sin, her wounds, her isolation—and still draws near in mercy. We are reminded that Christ did not die for us once we were lovable, but while we were still sinners. The call of the Christian life is not to hide from God in shame, but to return to Him quickly with trust, especially after sin, and to let His mercy heal us so that we can share that same mercy with others.
