Lake Tahoe is one of the most regulated and carefully monitored bodies of water in the United States.................but even that can't save the largest alpine lake in North America from the ravages of plastic pollution.
Water samples show that, for the first time, microplastics---the kind that litter the world's oceans--are floating in Lake Tahoe. Scientists aren't sure exactly how they got there, but it's not a positive sign for the lake's delicate ecosystem............so we will go In Depth.
