Rising from the Ashes

It's been a long time since Southern California has rocked and rolled like we did over the July 4th holiday, and in many ways we got lucky: even with two big earthquakes hitting the region, including a major 7-point-1 quake, there was minimal damage, almost no major injuries and no deaths. And in that sense, it was a strong wake up call for all of us to prepare for the inevitable big one.
And so we'll go In Depth on the shaking under the Mojave desert that served as a poignant reminder that much more damaging earthquakes are in our future: did the state's new earthquake early warning system work like it was supposed to? How is the tiny town of Ridgecrest, which absorbed the worst of the quakes, doing in its recovery? And why don't more of us have earthquake insurance?
Billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein seemed to get off relatively easy when he was convicted on state prostitution charges over a decade ago.......with stories circulating that Epstein had a long history of trafficking and molesting young teenage girls. Well prosecutors will get a second chance at Epstein, who was arrested upon his arrival back in the U.S. over the weekend.
And the American women did it, capturing the World Cup title in France all the while fighting a court case to win equal pay compared to their male counterparts. Will a World Cup help their chances?
