Coach Steve Komphela is saddened by the fact that his former Kaizer Chiefs missed out on the top eight this past season. The Soweto giants suffered their worst finish in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) era when the 2018/19 season concluded earlier this month. In fact their 39 points from 30 Absa Premiership games was their poorest total since 1985 – a span of 34 years. All this happened in the first full campaign since the departure of Komphela, who departed Naturena at the end of 2017/18. The ex-coach says he is pained by the state of affairs at Chiefs.
