Think of a present you never received. Now, open your eyes to yet another pair of tubes ocks. But wait there's more, You notice the tube socks are filled with something. You're intrigued, you look at your parents in confusion and wishful glee. They nod in wide grins, hoping you continue the search. Your agreement finds your hand deep inside a white tube sock, breaking the seals, and other plastics that keep them together. Once you hit the bottom, you feel something rough, jagged even. Your face turns into betrayal, because you know exactly what you just grabbed, Coal. Coal is for the naughty, It's for someone who was a bratty, and evil child to your hardworking parents. You look up to them, as they laugh manically, saying all sorts of insults, making you feel small and weak. Psych, it's just a nightmare. You gather your wits, and realize I shouldn't be rude to those that care about me. I shouldn't act like I'm entitled, I should be grateful.
I've been somewhat on the receiving end when it comes to bullying. Fortunately, I took that hurt and anger and turned into helping others who were bullied. I can think many of times I've wanted to pull out my hair dealing with family. The weird thing about family is - it's here until you wither away into the earth's soil. So learn to deal with the frustrations that come along with the loved ones, because it only gets worse as you get older. Unless you're a lucky one who doesn't have members of the family who act exactly like you. Ain't that ironic?
Presents..The singular, or multiple things that give you the healthy anxiety. I don't know if that's medically correct, but I digress. Could you fathom something like a Krampus story, happening to you? You stick it to the man, by ripping up the one thing your foreign grandmother warned you to have finished year after year. I know times are tough, and some family members are absolutely unbearable, but don't participate in some kind of ritual, making your now annoying Christmas time, into pure nightmares.
You'll hear the triggers that consume me during this review. I've seen it multiple times where characters dive into these dark arts, or disregard a loved ones tale from their past. What ends up happening? A Christmas apocalypse, that's what. Nothing could prepare you for Christmas beings hunting you like prey. Follow your instincts, and keep that Wishlist in tact, for all of us.
