Canada's Governor General announced her resignation amid allegations that she has contributed to a toxic work environment. In the wake of that, the Canadian Taxpayers Federation says it has obtained  documents showing Julie Payette’s Rideau Hall reno's cost taxpayers just over half a million dollars, but she never moved in.
