Continued controversy over Supreme Court ethics 

Secret recordings of Supreme Court Justices Alito and Roberts sharing their thoughts on conservatism are sparking more outrage and controversy this week. The recordings weren’t necessarily obtained in the most ethical manner. The KSL at Night hosts discuss whether the revelations on the recordings outweigh the unethicality of the recording itself. 

House Republicans to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt 

The United States House of Representatives has voted to hold Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for not releasing recordings of President Biden’s interviews with Special Counsel Robert Hur. Garland says he can’t release the recordings because they are covered under executive privilege. KSL Legal Analyst Greg Skordas shares his professional opinion on the situation. 

New records show Biden has raised more funds in Utah than Trump 

In a somewhat surprising development in a “red” state like Utah, new FEC records show that the Biden campaign has raised more money in the Beehive State than the Trump campaign. The KSL at Night hosts discuss the importance of election fundraising and how it could — or could not — matter to the overall presidential race and other races down the ballot. 

Salt Lake City gets one step closer to hosting the 2034 Olympics 

Utah’s one step closer to hosting the Olympics in 2034 after a major vote today. The topic of hosting the Olympics has been a major point of discussion in the state, including in the political realm. KSL at Night hosts Taylor Morgan and Adam Gardiner discuss the politics and finances of another Olympic games. We also hear what the GOP Gubernatorial candidates think about hosting the Olympics in 10 years.
