Theresa suffered for years but doctors told her there was nothing wrong (yet she would probably be on prescription medications for the rest of her life!). After deep research of her own, she found out that she had multiple chemical sensitivities and embarked on her own healing journey with alternative health care and whole foods.

Get inspired by Teresa and her journey through the links and information below, and of course through this podcast. Plus… the tip of the week!

10 Easy Ways to Pack More Fermented Foods In Your Child’s Lunch

Fermented foods are one of the best ways to pack a nutritional punch in any meal. And they’re an essential part of many gut-healing diets, so adding fermented foods to a school lunch is a simple addition. The problem lies in knowing what to pack and how to provide variety.

Listener Question

Lori asks:

“I made a sourdough starter yesterday, I used a pack of quick rise yeast, in warm water, 2 cups all-purpose flour, just a sprinkle of raw sugar and enough warm water to mix it well. Waited till it got a little bubbly on top, covered with cheese cloth. Today it was growing with bubbles, so I took out 2 cups and added 1 cup more flour. Mixed well till a good consistency. Wow, the pan cakes I made with the 2 cups I took out were the best I’ve ever had. I added my own vanilla paste to the batter, they were what makes your eyes roll back in your head! Yum. It is a good living start, growing as we speak. =) Have ever used quick rise yeast?”

About Teresa Jungling and Living Natural Today

“I (Teresa) struggled through many years of illness that medical doctors could not diagnose. After multiple CAT Scans, MRIs, ultra sounds, blood tests, and visits with specialists all ending in frustration, I looked into more natural healthcare. I was determined to find answers and not to be given prescription medications for the rest of my life! It was only after seeking alternative ways that I was diagnosed with endocrine and autonomic nervous system issues. The worst of it being major adrenal fatigue, hormone imbalances, immune problems and multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) to name a few.

Also, in my pursuit of answers to health related issues, I became aware of many environmental toxins and chemicals. The more I researched, the more I learned about how unhealthy our food, beauty products, cleaning chemicals, and other commonly used items can be for us.

As a Christian, there were times when I questioned why I was going through all of the frustration and pain that came from these health challenges. As I traveled from doctor to doctor, I wondered why I couldn’t find a proper diagnosis (not knowing what’s making your body sicker and weaker is VERY frustrating). However, I never gave up hope that the Lord would see me through. Eventhough I didn’t give up, there were days I couldn’t pray. I didn’t know what to say. I was so upset and discouraged. Still in my heart, I knew I was going through this for a reason and that He had a plan for me.

I developed my website Living Natural Today as a result of my personal health challenges due to living in “today’s” world. It is a resource to help inspire others who might be struggling with the similar health related issues that I have experienced, and to give people a central resource in regards to living a more natural lifestyle.

I realize that chemicals, toxins, environmental factors, stress and food all played a role as to why I became so ill. I am on the road to recovery and I now know that it IS POSSIBLE to feel better. Living naturally is a key to better health!”
