Kyle Gregoire is a mechanical engineer, and has spent the majority of his career involved in automotive polymers and more recently, sustainable initiatives. He graduated from U of Windsor in 1994 and has worked for a number of global companies over the years before purchasing his existing business last year - Granulum Inc. Granulum used to be known as Windsor Rubber Processing but with the change in ownership and his shift in focus to volume production, new processing technologies, and just an overall change in operational planning, he felt a new name was in order.
Today, Kyle has about 15 employees and they are moving towards high-volume tire recycling and crumb production. They supply our products to a number of different manufacturing and construction-focused companies here in Ontario. Once they reach full capacity, they will be able to recycle 2 million passenger car and light truck tires every year. Kyle is also introducing brand-new recycling technology through a partnership with an Italian company to recycle the largest tires in the world. It's an exciting project and he is really excited to bring real innovation to the industry here in North America. COVID has slowed the project down a bit but they are looking forward to having the new equipment here in Windsor in the coming months.
