Kyle Julius is the current head coach and general manager of the Canadian Elite Basketball League's Vancouver Bandits. The true Ontario Globetrotter, his playing career took him far abroad, and his coaching career even further. From his experiences in the NCAA Division 1 basketball, to playing in Limassol, Cyprus, to impressing the Taiwanese so much they offered him to stay, Kyle is global ladies and gentlemen.
As promised, this one is a wee bit different. It was a pleasure to have one of basketball's brightest minds from across the pond join our little podcast, hopefully a sign of things to come. This is by far me in my most curious state, as I knew absolutely nothing of the teams Kyle has been involved with, and to say I learned a lot would be an understatement. 57 minutes with the man makes you realise how incredibly lucky his squad and staff are to have him, a man of real principle but a fanastic conversationalist (no language barrier in sight ladies and gentlemen).
Hopefully while listening you enjoyed a wee break from the Scottish action. If not, never fear, next Saturday is one to look forward to, and the next, and the next. To any Canadians who have found their way over here, you're forever welcome. I hope another of your compatriots will join us soon.
If you're from in and around Vancouver or British Columbia, check out the Bandits this upcoming season. Secure tickets before tipoff here!
