While some can hire caregivers to provide that support to family members, sometimes it is the family member who is responsible for providing that level of care. Being a caregiver to a family member can allow a sense of trust between the two individuals. Sometimes, however, constantly attending to a family member's needs takes a toll on the caregiver themselves.
In this episode of All Together, Dina Sargeant talks with Kylie Meyer— a gerontologist and Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University.
Her research is focused on psychoeducational interventions to support family caregivers in multiple domains. These include complex medical/nursing care, healthy caregiving relationships, and financial well-being.
Dina and Kylie both tackle the importance of taking some time for yourself as well as the current process of government support for their respective countries.
