L.A. is a 2017 recipient of the American Horse Publications (AHP) Chris Brune Spirit Award and has been delivering award-winning coverage of international equestrian sports since starting her career with the U.S. Equestrian Team, and Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. 

 The recipient of more than a dozen AHP media awards -- including consecutive freelance writing wins and a coveted Horse/Human Bond article win -- her insights into the horse world also have earned her a Syracuse Press Club award and, since 2008, her popular His & Hers column has helped Elite Equestrian Magazine become the #1 Equestrian Lifestyle Magazine in the U.S., and #5 Worldwide Equine Magazine to Watch, according to RSS feed reader, Feedspot.com.  In 2020, L.A. hosting a live stream spin-off of her Horse Illustrated feature of the same name, ‘Trailblazing Horsewomen,’ earned first-place praise from AHP judges as an “heirloom piece” for the industry.
