Desde lo íntimo: La verdadera carrera.
En este mundo acelerado el descanso lo vemos como una debilidad pero Cristo mismo se llamó a sí ´el descanso´. El mundo nos hace creer que si tu agenda está más llena, más importante eres. Pero el Señor nos ve en ese cansancio y nos dice: ven, quiero que experimentes una vida plena, una vida real.
En el año 2020 fuimos detenidos por una pandemia, una que no escapó del conomiento de Dios y que nos enseñó muchísimo... Yo solía vivir sumamente ocupada, sin parar, corriendo de aqui para allá. Cuando finalmente me detuve en casa, sentí todo el peso de cómo vivía, y pude darme cuenta de que corría la carrera equivocada.
En lo secreto, tuve que ir y confesarle a Dios cómo me sentía, cansada, drenada... en esta debilidad de falta de visión y propósito. Y fue allí cuando el Señor con una voz apacible pero con un amor que confronta, habla:
has estado corriendo otra vez pero la carrera equivocada. Esa carrera que está motivada por logros, que se corre en tus fuerzas, que se trata de hacer para ser, es una carrera sin un verdadero fin, sin un premio, sin satisfacción real.
El correr la carrera equivocada te saca automáticamente de la carrera correcta que tengo para ti, que es la carrera de la fe, aquella que no se trata de hacer sino de ser primeramente, que no se corre solo sino con otros, que no siempre es pública pero sucede siempre en el lugar secreto, no es motivada por números sino por fidelidad y por amor, y tiene un fin y una esperanza que soy yo mismo, Cristo Jesús. Mira hacia la cruz, esa es la salida de la carrera equivocada a la carrera de la fe donde podrás encontrar paz y descanso en este mundo.
Cuando empezamos a caminar con Cristo, realmente el panorama cambia.
Puedes seguir transitando el mismo camino, la misma ruta, pero la vista cambia, los pasos cambian, las fuerzas también, y la meta cambia. Ese año comencé a transitar en la verdadera carrera.
From the Innermost: The True Career.
In this fast-paced world we see rest as a weakness but Christ himself called himself 'the rest'. The world would have us believe that if your schedule is fuller, the more important you are. But the Lord sees us in that tiredness and says to us: come, I want you to experience a full life, a real life.
In the year 2020 we were stopped by a pandemic, one that did not escape God's knowledge and that taught us a lot.... I used to live extremely busy, non-stop, running here and there. When I finally stopped at home, I felt the full weight of how I was living, and I realized that I was running the wrong race.
In secret, I had to go and confess to God how I felt, tired, drained... in this weakness of lack of vision and purpose. And that's when the Lord with a gentle voice but with a confronting love, spoke:
you have been running again but the wrong race. That race that is motivated by achievement, that is run on your strength, that is about doing to be, is a race without a real end, without a prize, without real satisfaction.
Running the wrong race automatically takes you out of the right race I have for you, which is the race of faith, the one that is not about doing but about being first, that is not run alone but with others, that is not always public but always happens in the secret place, is not motivated by numbers but by faithfulness and love, and has an end and a hope which is myself, Christ Jesus. Look to the cross, that is the exit from the wrong race to the race of faith where you can find peace and rest in this world.
When we begin to walk with Christ, the picture really changes.
You can continue to walk the same path, the same route, but the view changes, the steps change, the strength changes, and the goal changes. That year I began to walk in the real race.
