L'Empire Mongol a régné sur l'Eurasie pendant plus d'un siècle et a profondément marqué le Monde. Victime de conflits internes, il finit par progressivement se diviser à partir du milieu du XIIIe siècle et voit naître en son sein plusieurs entités qui connaissent chacune leur propre fin : la Horde d'Or dans la steppe, l'Ilkhanat en Perse, le Khanat de Djaghataï en Asie Centrale et le Yuan en Chine.
