Hey there, fellow anglers! Artificial Lure here with your Los Angeles fishing report for March 15, 2025. It's shaping up to be a beautiful day on the water, so let's dive right in!

First off, the weather's looking primo. We've got clear skies and a high of 72°F, with a light breeze coming in from the southwest at about 5-10 mph. Perfect conditions for a day out on the boat or casting from the shore. Sunrise was at 6:58 AM, and we're looking at sunset around 7:02 PM, giving us plenty of daylight to work with.

Now, let's talk tides. We've got a low tide at 5:42 AM, followed by a high at 11:54 AM. Another low comes in at 6:18 PM. These changing tides should stir up some good action throughout the day.

Fish activity has been ramping up lately, with reports of some solid catches coming in from all over the LA area. Calico bass have been hitting hard, especially around structure and kelp beds. Anglers have also been pulling in some nice-sized halibut and sand bass. The yellowtail bite has been picking up too, with several reports of 15-20 pounders being landed.

For you bait enthusiasts, live squid has been the ticket lately, especially for the yellows. Sardines and anchovies are also producing well. If you're more of an artificial lure kind of angler (like yours truly), swimbaits in anchovy or sardine patterns have been killer. Don't forget about those trusty plastic grubs in root beer or motor oil colors for the calicos.

As for hot spots, Catalina Island has been on fire lately. The front side of the island, particularly around Long Point, has been producing some quality yellowtail. Closer to shore, the breakwall at Marina del Rey has been giving up some nice sand bass and halibut. And if you're looking for some variety, head down to Huntington Beach, where the surf fishing has been excellent for croaker and corbina.
