Hey there, anglers! Artificial Lure here with your Los Angeles fishing report for March 11, 2025.
The tides are looking good today, with a high of 5.2 feet at 8:42 AM and a low of 0.3 feet at 3:15 PM. We've got partly cloudy skies with a high of 72°F and light winds from the southwest. Sunrise was at 6:12 AM and sunset will be at 5:58 PM.
Fish activity has been picking up lately as we transition into spring. The past week has seen some solid catches of calico bass, sand bass, and halibut along the coast. A few lucky anglers even landed some nice white seabass at Catalina Island.
For artificial lures, swimbaits in anchovy patterns have been killer for the bass. Try the 5" Big Hammer in smoky shad color or the 4" MC Swimbaits in blue back chrome. For halibut, you can't go wrong with a white or chartreuse curly tail grub on a 1 oz jighead. If you're using bait, fresh or frozen squid has been the ticket.
Some hot spots to check out: The breakwall at Marina del Rey has been producing nice sand bass, while the kelp beds off Palos Verdes are holding good numbers of calicos. For halibut, try drifting the sandy areas just outside King Harbor.
Remember to pick up your license and follow all regulations. Tight lines, everyone!
