Welcome to the 8th episode of La Voix du LILA –Burbank for the 2020-2021 school year.
We hope everybody enjoyed the break and was able to return to school ready to go.
On today's Podcast we had Lily and Natalia (8th grade) join us to speak about their effort to support victims of the many California fires with a canned food and clothing drive. See the link that follows for all of the information and the drop off procedures. The drive will start October 26 and end November 6. They explain all of the procedures, and we look forward to supporting their efforts.
La Mosaïque section:
Reminders that next Friday is dress up day for Halloween. Ms. Harvey and Mr. Mondange would like to have all students get their costumes ready to earn those spirit points for their respective grades.
Lincoln spoke about the assembly from this past week to address the murder of the French teacher Samuel Paty and the importance of how the community is responding to this horrible event.
Ms. Harvey highlights the upcoming presentation with Francis Cholle from Squircle Academy who will be presenting on Tuesday evening October 27 at 6:30 to our parents, faculty/staff members, and 11th and 12th grade students. His approach is to challenge us all to reach decisions and find solutions to problems that will positively impact our lives and ultimately lead to a more sustainable world.
Lincoln placed a spotlight on the upcoming holiday season by highlighting the PA's drive to raise funds for our teacher and staff appreciation event, so be on the lookout for more information and ways to support.
To end this week's podcast we wanted to recognize Mr. Miguel Bonnefoy, an alum of the show, for his achievement of being selected as a finalist for the Grand Prix de l'Academie. His book Heritage is his third novel, and we highly recommend this for your personal library.
