Join me and comedian, writer, and producer Lauren kincheloe @squalid_gold as we dissect and destroy, roast and toast the 2025 Hallmark Christmas movie  ⁠Christmas Above the Clouds⁠  a modern retelling of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, primarily set during a long-haul flight.

Heres the deal Ella Neezer (Erin Krakow) is a workaholic CEO of a travel company who is known for her stingy, demanding, and unsympathetic nature, earning her the nickname "Krampus" from her underappreciated employees. Eager to avoid the holiday season altogether, Ella books a Christmas Eve flight from New York to Sydney, Australia. Because of the time difference, her plan is to take off on December 24th and land on December 26th, skipping Christmas entirely. On the plane, she is accompanied by her assistant, Bobbi Cratchit (a nod to Bob Cratchit), whose son Tim has a medical condition. In a twist of fate, Ella discovers her ex-fiancé, Jake (Tyler Hynes), is also a passenger on the flight, sitting in first class across the aisle.

Once the plane is at cruising altitude, Ella is visited by three quirky spirits representing her past, present, and future. These in-flight visitations force her to confront the personal choices that led to her professional success but left her "flying solo" in life.

Through this magical journey at 30,000 feet, Ella is forced to see the errors of her ways, the impact of her selfishness on others, and the love she thought she had lost with Jake.
