SCRIPTURE TEXT: Ruth 2:1-23  

Continuing our chapter-by-chapter sermon series on the Book of Ruth, the story of the LABOR by which this loyal, loving woman of faith achieves a kind of regency—a patient preparation for the King to come—continues into chapter two. Here Ruth’s dedication provides a stirring example of simple lessons yielding a lasting legacy. If we, like Ruth, diligently do the work before us as unto the Lord, gratefully trusting in what He provides, then by His empowering Spirit we may patiently fulfill the harvest of His hope already sown in our souls through His promise.
