Eimear plays rugby for Ireland, teaches in an all girls’ school and is currently a sports analyst with TG4.
Throughout this chat we talk about the importance of sport growing up and the position it held within the Considine household. Eimear recounts the moment both she and her sister witnessed the passing of their father and the questions it left them with.
Life has presented Eimear with many opportunities but we chat about the demands that come with that in terms of time, happiness and balance.
Eimear recalls the moment when she realised she needed to take a step back and reevaluate and ask herself the question ‘what can I sacrifice at this point’.
Eimear has welcomed the 2020 movement, albeit in the year that is, but how it has greatly contributed to driving awareness of women in sport.
Eimear encourages all budding sports enthusiasts to keep trying. If not succeeding, asking where they need to improve and gives the perfect example in sister Ailish Considine who is now a professional sports person.
