What is heteronormativity, and how does it work as a lens through which we see the world?
We were taught that if something is not male, then, by default, it must be female. These seemingly inseparable categories shape the way we think, making us assume there are no other possibilities.
Very subtly, we become blinded by a world built on defaults — a world that can imprison us within narrow ways of thinking.
As we celebrate European Diversity Month, in our eleventh episode, we discuss the so-called heteronormativity and amatonormativity: what it is, why it is problematic, and how we can break free from this “default mode.”
But there is something that can help unblur our vision. Want to know what it is? Listen to our new episode and discover it!
