In this week's episode of Business Your Mind, I got to sit down and talk with William Salaam, who is the co-owner of Lady Mocha @Miller Beach Boutique in Gary, IN and Bronzeville Boutique in Chicago, IL. William's story is incredible! His journey started when he was growing up in poverty on the south side of Chicago and graduating 397 out of 400 from high school. Not having the grades to go to college, he joined the Navy and got an education no classroom could teach. His fear of going back to poverty based on the fact that he was the only one of his siblings to NOT go to college, drove him to have a "hustler's mentality" and do whatever it took to make money LEGALLY, and stay out of that situation as best as possible. When he met his wife, her fearlessness, drive and determination were things he saw in himself, and knew he wanted to be there to support her in her aspirations and dreams, becoming HIS aspirations and dreams. Little did he know, that was the beginning of a 30 year PLUS business journey. So join me, as William shares his story and journey, and Business Your Mind.
