๐ Happy Sunday, dear Laissiez! ๐
Today we have a DJ and producer all the way from Canada: Kyle a.k.a. @oondza! ๐๐๐ His sound always kicks off with a strong bass and driving grooves, layered with signature synths and organic elements ๐ฟ๐น. He creates immersive atmospheres that pull you in while keeping the rhythm energetic and hypnotic ๐๐ฅ.
Wanna know how his sound sounds? Repeat OONDZA three times in a row and press play! ๐จ๐บ๐
๐ฅ Welcome Kyle, how did your artist name come about?
Oondza originally started as a duo with my friend Niko. We were trying to find a name that matched the vibe of the music we were making. When you repeat the word โOondzaโ it almost sounds like a tribal groove. At least that is what we thought at the time. The name stuck and it felt like the right fit for the project.
๐ฅ How did you get into electronic music and when did you decide to start producing?
I got into electronic music around 2010 and started going to events in Montreal. A big turning point for me was attending the Eclipse Festival in Quebec. That experience really changed something for me. Over time I became friends with some of the organizers and in 2022 I had the chance to perform there myself. That felt like a real full circle moment.
๐ฅ What is the hardest part of being a producer that nobody really talks about?
For me it is simply finding the time. I work for a tech company and I also have two kids, so free time is precious. Balancing work, family life and music can be challenging, but it also makes the time I spend producing feel even more meaningful.
๐ฅ What is your biggest dream when it comes to electronic music?
One of my biggest dreams would be to play at Boom Festival. It is a place I have always wanted to experience and getting the chance to share my music there would be very special.
๐ฅ Is there anything you would like to say to the listeners?
It was a pleasure to prepare this set and I hope you enjoy the journey. Sending good energy from Canada.
