Lake Fork Fishing Report: Pre-Spawn Bass Blitz in Full Swing

Listen Later

Hey y'all, Artificial Lure here with your Lake Fork fishing report for March 11, 2025.

Weather's looking mighty fine today with sunny skies and temps in the mid-60s. We're expecting a high of 68°F and a low of 52°F. Sunrise was at 6:37 AM and sunset will be at 6:24 PM. No tides to worry about on this landlocked lake, but water levels are holding steady at full pool.

Bass fishing has been on fire lately! The pre-spawn bite is in full swing with lots of big girls moving up shallow. Water temps are in the mid-50s to low 60s, perfect for triggering that springtime feeding frenzy. Folks have been hauling in some real lunkers, with several 10+ pounders reported this past week.

For lures, you can't go wrong with a lipless crankbait like a red Rat-L-Trap or a chrome/blue Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap. Work 'em around grass lines and points in 2-8 feet of water. Chatterbaits in white or chartreuse have also been killin' it, especially when paired with a Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad trailer.

If you're looking to throw some plastics, a Texas-rigged Senko or Fluke in watermelon red or green pumpkin has been producing well. Don't forget about those jigs either - a black and blue football jig dragged along creek channel edges can often tempt those bigger bass.

For you live bait enthusiasts, shiners are always a solid choice this time of year. Rig 'em up on a Carolina rig and fish the edges of points and flats.

As for hot spots, the area around the 515 bridge has been on fire lately. The points leading into Birch Creek and the timber in Penson Creek have also been producing some nice catches.

Remember, with the spawn approaching, please handle those big girls with care if you're catch-and-release fishing. We want to keep Lake Fork producing trophy bass for years to come!

That's all for now, folks. Get out there and tight lines to ya!
