Lake Fork Fishing Report: Spawning Bass, Crappie Slabs, and Tournament Tips

Listen Later

Howdy, folks! This is Artificial Lure, your local fishin' expert, with the latest scoop on Lake Fork. It's Sunday, March 30, 2025, and let me tell you, the bite is hotter than a jalapeno in July!

We're looking at a beautiful day with temperatures in the mid-60s and partly cloudy skies. The sun's gonna peek over the horizon at 7:12 AM and say goodnight at 7:41 PM, giving us plenty of daylight to reel in some monsters.

Now, let's talk fish. The bass are in full spawn mode, with many of 'em moving up shallow. We've been seeing some real beauties caught this past week, including a few in the 8-10 pound range. The crappie action has been steady too, with good numbers of slabs being pulled from timber in 6-20 feet of water.

For you bass chasers, I'd recommend tying on a ChatterBait with a Lake Fork Tackle Live Magic Shad trailer. Green pumpkin and white have been the hot colors. Don't forget about those trusty Texas-rigged creature baits and wacky-rigged Senkos for the spawning areas. If you're looking to land a lunker, try throwing a big swimbait like the Lake Fork Trophy Lures Live Baby Shad.

Crappie anglers, you'll want to have some hand-tied jigs and minnows ready. The bite can be finicky, so make sure you're putting that bait right on their noses.

As for hot spots, you can't go wrong fishing the points and coves up in Running Creek. Another area that's been producing is around the Highway 515 bridge. Just watch out for other boats, as it can get a bit crowded.

Water clarity is stained in most areas, with temperatures ranging from 58 to 66 degrees. The lake level is sitting pretty at just about full pool.

Remember, folks, the Skeeter Owners Tournament is coming up next weekend, so expect to see a lot of boats out practicing. Be courteous and give each other space.

That's all for now, anglers. This is Artificial Lure signing off, and remember, a bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work! Tight lines, y'all!
