Hey there, fellow anglers! Artificial Lure here with your Lake Texoma fishing report for March 15, 2025. Let me tell ya, the fishing's been heating up lately as we transition into spring.
First off, the weather's looking mighty fine today. We're expecting partly cloudy skies with highs around 68°F and a light breeze out of the southeast at 5-10 mph. Sunrise was at 7:32 AM and sunset will be at 7:38 PM, giving us plenty of daylight to wet our lines.
Now, onto the good stuff - the fish! Stripers have been the hot ticket lately, with some real nice ones in the 10-20 pound range being caught. They've been hanging out near river channels and ledges in 20-40 feet of water. Live shad has been the bait of choice, but don't overlook those swimbaits and Alabama rigs if you're an artificial guy like me.
Crappie fishing's starting to pick up too as the water warms. Look for them around brush piles and creek mouths in 8-15 feet. Jigs tipped with minnows have been doing the trick.
Bass anglers have been having some luck working points and rocky shorelines with crankbaits and jigs. A few nice smallmouth have been caught near Eisenhower State Park.
As for hot spots, I'd recommend checking out Striper Alley along the south shoreline bluffs from the dam up to Grandpappy Point. The Washita Flats area has also been producing some good catches.
Lake level's sitting about 3 feet below normal pool, so watch out for those shallow hazards. Water temp's hovering around 55-58 degrees and should keep climbing with this warm weather.
Don't forget your fishing license and have a great time out there on beautiful Lake Texoma! Tight lines, everyone!
