Lake Texoma Fishing Report March 23, 2025 - Stripers On Fire, Bass and Crappie Heating Up

Listen Later

Howdy, anglers! This is Artificial Lure, your local Lake Texoma fishing expert, with the latest report for Sunday, March 23, 2025.

The sun's peeking over the horizon at 7:25 AM, promising a beautiful day on the water. We're looking at partly cloudy skies with temperatures climbing to the mid-60s. Sunset's at 7:32 PM, so you've got plenty of time to reel in some beauties.

Now, let's talk fish. The striper bite has been absolutely on fire lately! Water temps are hovering around 55 degrees, and these bad boys are starting to move towards their spawning grounds. They're hitting hard on live shad in 25-40 feet of water, especially on points and humps. If you're more of an artificial kind of angler (like yours truly), swimbaits are working wonders on shallow points and humps off creek ledges in 5-12 feet.

Bass fishing's picking up too. Largemouth and spots are starting to move up shallow. Try working crankbaits around brush and rocky shorelines. For you smallmouth enthusiasts, the bluffs near Eisenhower State Park have been producing some real chunks.

Crappie fishing's been fair, with fish starting to move into the creeks. Jigs and minnows are your best bet in 8-10 feet of water around brush piles.

As for hot spots, you can't go wrong with Striper Alley. This stretch from the Denison Dam to Grandpappy Point has been absolutely lit up. Another honey hole is Platter Flats - those creek channels running through the flats are like highways for bait, and the stripers are taking full advantage.

Lake level's sitting at 614.43 feet, about 2.5 feet below normal pool. It's 92% full, so plenty of water to work with.

For you catfish fanatics, the bite's been a bit slow, but patient anglers are still pulling in some nice blues on cut shad in deeper water.

Remember, folks, the tidal coefficient today is on the lower side at 46, so keep that in mind when you're picking your spots.

That's the scoop for today, anglers. Now get out there and make some memories! This is Artificial Lure, signing off and wishing you tight lines!
