Lake Texoma Fishing Report: Stripers, Bass, and Crappie Heating Up for Spring

Listen Later

Hey there, fellow anglers! Artificial Lure here with your Lake Texoma fishing report for March 11, 2025.

Let me tell ya, the fishing's been picking up lately as we're starting to see some warmer days. Water temp's sitting around 52 degrees, and the lake level's about 3 feet below normal pool. We've had a bit of rain lately, so the water's got a nice stain to it - perfect for fooling those big stripers!

Sunrise was at 6:39 AM, and we're looking at sunset around 6:24 PM. Weather-wise, it's been partly cloudy with highs in the mid-60s and a light breeze from the southeast.

Now, onto the good stuff - the fish! Striped bass have been the stars of the show lately. Folks have been having luck trolling with umbrella rigs and swimbaits in 15-25 feet of water. Keep an eye out for birds diving - that's a dead giveaway for some surface action. A few anglers reported 20+ fish days, with some real bruisers in the 15-20 pound range.

Largemouth bass are starting to move shallow as they get ready for the spawn. Crankbaits and jigs worked around points and rocky banks have been producing some nice catches. One fella I talked to landed a 7-pounder on a chartreuse spinnerbait near Washita Point.

Crappie fishing's been hit or miss, but those who've found them are filling up their coolers. Minnows and small jigs fished around brush piles in 10-15 feet of water seem to be the ticket.

As for catfish, they're biting well on cut shad and prepared baits. Drift fishing the flats in 20-30 feet of water has been the most productive method.

If you're looking for some hot spots, I'd recommend trying around the Roosevelt Bridge area for stripers, or head up the Washita arm for some good bass action. The Little Mineral arm has been producing some nice crappie catches too.

Remember, folks, no need for live bait when you've got the right artificials in your tackle box! Tight lines, and I'll catch y'all next time!
