Banks could soon be required to compensate victims of cybercrime following a landmark ruling by the consumer watchdog. The Australian Financial Complaints Authority found HSBC liable for a customer's losses after a scammer impersonated one of its employees to access their account. The bank has since been ordered to repay a customer almost 50 thousand dollars.
