Gibraltarian Monica Popham is Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year! Monica has won a £10,000 commission to create a landscape artwork based on the Orkney Islands, to display in the Science Museum. She also won £500 of art materials. We spoke to her on the phone from Guildford in the UK.
The Department of Education has commissioned Una Geary, a NHS public health speciality registrar, to compile a report to find out why the number of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in Gibraltar is on the rise. Ms Geary is going to work with the Director of Public Health Dr Helen Carter, and Jenny Victory from the Supported Needs and Disability Office. They spoke to us about the project in the studio.
And, the Development and Planning Commission has given outline planning permission for an aquarium in Rosia Bay. Kevin Ruiz brought us the details.
