Laodicea is known as the lukewarm church. Jesus had a strong rebuke against this church because they were lukewarm. Jesus said He wished that they were either hot or cold, but because they were lukewarm, He would spew them out of His mouth. What was the root cause of their lukewarm condition? It was pride. They were so rich in the things of this world, that they didn't see their spiritual poverty. Don't let the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life hinder your spiritual growth in Christ. We can be overcomers and sit with Christ on His throne!
