How does a story teller become one? It may start with a curious nature but it requires a desire to observe and remember the people, places, and things most of us tend to forget. It also helps to have a father who allows you to become his "silent sentinel" and who encourages you to empathize with and so remember that lives and the people who live them matter, no matter what their station, past or future.
