Larger Than Life

David here shows us that when you worship in adoration before, in the midst, and after your battles, God will come through. Instead of focusing on the giant in front of Him (literally), he focused on God, and God delivered Him from Goliath's destructive hands. In today’s message, Pastor Ron will remind you that whatever your giant is or whoever your Goliath is, if you praise God and center yourself on why He is SO good, you will win against any enemy, any battle, and any giant!!

The Bible commands us to love our neighbor as ourselves. It commands, not suggests, to love God and to love one another because Christ first loved us. Jesus loved us long before we knew Him or knew what love even was. In today’s message, Pastor Ron will challenge you to look at how you love others and who you’re actually loving. Do you have some sort of hate towards another person or people group? Pastor Ron will share that that isn’t Biblical; IT IS only Biblical to love others!

One misconception and misrepresentation that I think turns so many people away from Jesus is that He enjoys allowing bad things to happen to us. Let me just say this: He doesn’t. It grieves His heart, and we know that because the Bible tells us so. God allows tragedies and trials to wreck our lives only to help us grow stronger in our faith and endurance in this life. In today’s message, Pastor Ron will encourage you to remember this yourself and to share it with others…Jesus loves you!!

We are all sinners, but there is forgiveness in God. In today’s message, Pastor Ron reminds us of what it cost Jesus to pay for our sins and encourages us to be grateful. We should thank God continually for deliverance from our guilt and shame. Just as certain as the sun rises, we have the hope and assurance of forgiveness. Grace abounds more than our sin. We all experience times of sinfulness and resulting guilt. We must wait on the Lord, abide in His word, and He will deliver us from sin.

Periods of sorrow often precede great joy. Today, Pastor Ron emphasizes the importance of remaining faithful and relying on Scripture during times of trial, as such faithfulness ultimately yields a significant reward. The Scripture states that those who sow in tears will reap with rejoicing. Afflictions may sometimes serve as divine correction. The appropriate response is obedience and faith, without becoming weary in doing good. God remains true to His promises and rewards faithfulness.

Where do we seek assistance in times of need? The Psalmist affirms that his help comes from the Lord. Today, Pastor Ron urges us to turn to the Creator God for support, as He has all power and strength. God will not permit our steps to falter but will oversee every aspect of our journey. He serves as the perfect watchman who never sleeps. God assures us that He will be our strength and our right hand. He will provide for every need and promises to preserve us. We can always trust in His protection.

Although we live in a world often marked by condemnation and gloom, God assures us that those who follow His law will experience peace. Today, Pastor Ron emphasizes the significance of God’s word in sustaining peace in our lives. While the world generates unrest, God offers solace. Rather than being distracted by the negativity of a lost world, we are encouraged to focus on God’s promises. Instead of living a life without purpose, find fulfillment by adhering to His Word. 

God is in control. In today’s message, Pastor Ron emphasizes that God’s sovereignty extends beyond our individual lives to encompass the entire universe. Therefore, we need not fear global warming or the destruction of the earth, as Scripture affirms that the elements of the universe serve God’s purposes. The earth will eventually pass away, but it will occur according to God’s timing, and He will create a new earth. In times of turmoil, turn to Christ, for His ways are always right. He’s in control.

We live in such a wonderful time in history where we have both access to God’s Word, as well as access to the means to read and understand it. Pastor Ron reminds us today of the importance of being engaged with God’s Word and studying it to have it written on our hearts. With the ease of access that we have to the Scriptures, we would be foolish not to engage with them fully! In Matthew 6:21, Jesus says, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” This sentiment is provided here throughout the Old Testament as well. Pastor Ron poses a valuable question to us in this message: Do we value God’s Word more than anything that this world has to offer? We ought to take a look at our daily routines, at where our time goes, and see if we’re really prioritizing our relationship with Jesus. While we may not see our “heavenly bank account,” we can be assured that it will always have value!
