This week, for John’s Birthday (happy birthday!), he subjected Danielle, Niki and merritt to Larry Crowne, a wildly indulgent comedy both directed by and starring Tom Hanks, from a script written by Hanks and Nia Vadarlos. Featuring some of the doofiest comedy hijinks you can possibly imagine this side of 1998, Julia Roberts in her most unlikeable role, and every other Hollywood A-to-C-lister you can imagine, it’s a… fascinating movie.
