Know-How – The Medicare Coach! Larry Weigel attended Kansas State University on a full basketball scholarship in the mid 1960’s and played for legendary coach Tex Winter. Larry graduated from K-State with a degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in education in 1968. He remained in Manhattan, KS and devoted twenty years working for the university as an assistant basketball coach, fundraiser, and later Executive Director of the K-State Alumni Association. In 1989, he joined Keating and Associates, and became the firm’s certified medical risk management specialist. As more clients started aging into Medicare he recognized a need to expand his practice to include Medicare advising and in 2009 started the first of its kind fee based Medicare Coaching service in the nation. He and wife Kay have two adult children and five grandchildren. In addition to his professional life, he enjoys composing songs, playing musical instruments, gardening, public speaking and entertaining audiences throughout Kansas.
