Lassa is a viral hemorrhagic fever that ravages the immune system rendering the victim incapacitated within days, eventually leading to death. It is transmitted by the multimammate rat, to man, and man to man transmission also occur.

This episode is a tribute to a very senior colleague, Dr Esa Oga, who died in the jaws of this deadly disease while trying to save another. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
