Publisher's Summary:
Margot detests shopping malls. Any distraction is welcome, and the woman who has chained herself to the escalator, shouting about the perils of consumerism, is certainly that. She recognises Dot immediately - from their campaigning days, and further back still, to when Margot married Laurence. Dot is in despair at the abandonment of the sisterhood, at the idea of pole dancing as empowerment and the sight of five-year-olds with false eyelashes and padded bras. She's still a fierce campaigner, but she isn't sure where to direct her rage.
Meanwhile Margot holds a haunting resentment that her youthful ambitions have always been shelved to attend to the needs of others. And as the two women turn to the past for solutions for the future, Margot's family is in crisis. Laurence travels in a bid to repress his grief, daughter Lexie loses her job after twenty years, and her younger sister Emma hides her pain with shopping binges.

Wonderful story -thanks Liz Byrski
Thought provoking- skilfully disguised as a good yarn Issues of such importance for anyone with daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmothers!
For us middle age mamas!
I just love that wise and intelligent older women are portrayed to be the thoughtful & still relevant women that they are! It is never too late to write, create, fall in love, and parent. We get one life, and we better live it!!!
Last Chance Cafe
I really enjoyed this book, being a child of the sixties it reminded me of how passionate everyone was at the time and how hard sometimes it is to reconcile our past with the present especially when it may not have turned out quite like we expected. Have read a number of books by this author and every one struck a chord. Fantastic book, loved the twist she manages to include in this book.
It only took me a couple of days to read it and I loved it all
This book kept me entertained from start to finish. It only took me a couple of days to read it and I loved it all. It was a story of "my time" and I often felt "I have been there!!"
Four Stars
