We are stepping into a new series called Last Words as we journey through Lent toward Easter. We are slowing down to consider what Jesus chose to say in the most painful moments of his life. When betrayal, injustice, and violence surrounded him, he did not curse his enemies or defend his innocence. He prayed for their forgiveness.

The cross exposes the worst parts of us, including our fear, our compromise, and our hunger for control. It also reveals a mercy that moves toward us before we clean ourselves up. Jesus asked the Father to forgive people who were still driving the nails and dividing his clothes. That prayer reaches further than we imagine.

Some of us are carrying shame that feels permanent. Others are gripping resentment that feels justified. Check out this teaching and sit with the words of Jesus as we consider where we need to receive forgiveness and where we are being called to give it.
