Apparently Love Island got a budget. 😂🏝️

I’m back in the villa for Love Island UK Season 3, and I loved this season so much that one episode simply wasn’t going to cut it. So we’re doing this one in two parts.

In Part 1, we’re talking about the villa glow-up (Season 2’s Airbnb could NEVER), my completely unnecessary American deep dive into why every British person apparently goes to Mallorca, and a cast that very quickly made me realize Season 3 was going to be something special.

We need to discuss Camilla, who may genuinely have wandered onto the wrong television show, the arrival of an EXTREMELY confident Chris Hughes, Marcel’s transition from Blazin’ Squad member to licensed villa marriage counselor, and the early couples that lasted approximately six minutes.

Then we’re getting into the relationships that really start to define the season: Kem & Amber’s never-ending cycle of flirting, fighting and making up; Chris & Olivia exhausting me from thousands of miles away; Marcel & Gabby looking suspiciously like the adults in the room; and Dom continuing his Love Island experience after Jess leaves like a man whose girlfriend went home but whose return flight wasn’t refundable.

And yes, I have THOUGHTS about Camilla. ❤️ But we are absolutely not finished with her yet.

For the very first episode of Late to the Villa, I’m going back to Love Island UK Season 2, a season I watched completely blind in 2026, with absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into.

And… HOLY SMOKES.

We’re talking about the couples I loved (and definitely didn’t), the bombshells, the breakups, the truly questionable behavior, the dates that apparently had a production budget of about £12, and all the moments that made me wonder, “Wait… they actually aired this?!”

There’s Justice for Zara, plenty of thoughts about Nathan and Cara, my soft spot for Daniel, the absolute chaos that was this cast, and a LOT to unpack about watching 2016 reality television through a 2026 lens.

This isn’t an episode-by-episode recap. It’s the full-season debrief from one American who showed up to the villa approximately ten years late — with fresh eyes, zero nostalgia, and no idea what happened to these Islanders after they left.
