Latin American Socialism and the Fall of the Pink Tide w/ René Rojas

Once viewed as the beacon of the global socialist movement, Latin America's Pink Tide now seems to be receding. Joining us this week to contextualize this moment alongside earlier waves of socialist upsurge in Latin America is René Rojas, Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.

We discusses Rojas's important Catalyst essay from last summer titled, "The Latin American Left's Shifting Tides," (https://catalyst-journal.com/vol2/no2/the-latin-american-lefts-shifting-tides) and provide a number of important lessons for assessing our contemporary socialist movement in the United States and beyond.
